What Is Team Competition Skating? βΈοΈβ¨
Team skating allows skaters to perform and compete together as a group while building confidence, friendships, and performance skills on the ice.
At River Blades, our team programs give skaters the opportunity to experience competition in a fun and supportive team environment. Many skaters enjoy competing as part of a team before moving on to individual competitions.
What Do Team Skaters Do?
Skaters learn:
β’ Skating skills and choreography
β’ Timing and synchronization with teammates
β’ Performance and acting skills
β’ Teamwork and confidence on the ice
Teams practice together and perform themed production routines set to music. These routines tell a story and allow skaters to express creativity and personality on the ice.
Competitions
Our teams typically compete 3β4 times each season at local competitions. These events are exciting, supportive, and a great way for skaters to gain performance experience.
Ice Show Performances
Team routines are also featured in our annual River Blades March Ice Show, giving skaters the chance to perform their competition routines for family and friends.
Team Themes
Each year our team routines are often centered around the theme of our annual ice show. Past themes have included:
